Hello! We are the co-owners and founders of Midwest Gold Records. Spike handles our booking of shows and band management while Ryne handles the audio engineering, live sound, as well as video and audio production. We brought our forces together to run a non-intrusive DIY record label that provides backing support to the West Michigan music scene and its surrounding areas.

My golden rule: make something more of what it is

My process is not like most engineers’. I don’t compress the hell outa your tracks. I believe in fatting them up from the middle instead of squashing them down from the top.

I use my own surgical method of side-chaining and automation to make space in a mix rather than carving the hell outa tracks with EQs and whatnots. 

Less is always more, and rather than try to warp things to fit my vision, I listen to the tracks and let the tracks shape themselves.
